What is a “lead”?

A “lead” is your potential client.

LeadScanr analyzes millions of public Twitter posts on a daily basis. Using a custom linguistic algorithm, the software picks out messages that contain an intention (express a desire or a need) to purchase a product or a service. These are messages of your potential clients that you see once you pick an appropriate industry.

How can I find new clients using LeadScanr?

Once you log in to LeadScanr and choose the appropriate region and industry, you’ll see a stream of posts from your potential clients. That stream is constantly refreshed to show you the most recent messages. If you’re interested in a particular message, you can reach out to the user with an offer of your products or services. To do this, simply press the “Get Lead” button to receive a direct link to the tweet. Once you have the URL, you can comment on the user’s post, follow them or favorite their tweet.

How can I see new messages from potential clients?

The free version of our service allows you to see social media posts from up to 14 days ago. To get access to the newest leads, you can subscribe to the paid version of our service in your “Cabinet”. This will allow you to reach out to users who published their posts very recently.

Where can I find out how much time I have left on my paid access to leads?

You can check your subscription status and your lead purchase history in the “Cabinet” section.

What kind of contact information can I get about a potential client?

Once you press the “Get Lead” button, LeadScanr will give you a direct link to the tweet in which the user expressed their desire to purchase a product or a service; as well as the public Twitter profile of the post’s author.

I’ve received my first potential client’s contact info. What should my next steps be?

You should follow the link to the user’s tweet (social media post where they expressed a need or a desire to purchase a product or service) and start a conversation. You can offer your products or services, share a link to your website, or simply give them some useful advice. For more helpful tips on reaching out to clients via social media, check out our blog.

Where can I find all the leads I’ve received?

All your leads are stored in the “My Leads” section of the corresponding industries. If you’ve selected a post, but chose not to contact the author right away, you can later find that post in “My Leads”.

I sent an offer to a potential client, but they didn’t respond. What happened?

First and foremost, make sure that you choose the most suitable clients for you, i.e. people who are most likely to respond to your offer.
When you reach out to a potential client, be polite, helpful, and concise; think of it as an elevator pitch for your products or services. Even if the potential client isn’t interested in your offer right away, a pleasant and useful interaction will increase the chance of them reaching out to you at a later date. Plus, your comment will be seen by other users in your client’s social network, and these people may also be interested in similar products or services.
Finally, don’t forget to update your own social media account regularly. Your bio should contain a brief description of the products and services you offer, as well as ways to contact you. This helps potential clients get to know you better if they decide to check out your profile after you comment on their post.

I got the contact information for a potential client, but they already deleted their message.

Sometimes, when you click on the URL provided by LeadScanr, you may see a notification saying the user has deleted or hidden their post. Usually this means the user resolved the question and no longer needs help.

How do you know the geographical location of a potential client?

Our software determines the geographical location of potential clients by analyzing their social media profiles and geotags on their posts. If the software couldn’t figure out the lead’s location or the user chose not to disclose it, you will see a question mark displayed in the “Region” part of the lead.

How do I filter leads from my region?

If your services are limited to a specific location, you can set up a location filter to target leads exclusively in that region. You can filter messages from potential clients in your city or country by typing your region into the search field of the lead stream.

Can I filter leads by keyword?

If you want to narrow your lead search further, you can set up a keyword filter with industry-specific terms. To filter your leads by keyword in LeadScanr, type the desired keywords into the appropriate field over the lead stream. This will only show you the messages that contain the keywords you’ve specified.
For example, if you’re a graphic designer that specializes in teaching French, pick the “Foreign language education” category and enter related keywords in quotation marks separated by commas, like so: “French”, “French tutor”, “learn French”, etc.

If I get a lead’s contact information, can others still access it?

Yes, several LeadScanr users can get access to the same lead. The faster you can pitch your services to the client, the bigger your chances of having your services accepted over others.

I didn’t find any leads in my industry. What should I do?

We’re constantly expanding our list of categories for industry-specific leads. If you couldn’t find clients through existing LeadScanr categories, please fill out the new industry suggestion form (found at the bottom of the page with the list of available categories).
